Technical Parameters Specification
1.Rated toruqe TN is the maximun average torque as the diesel engine is in stable operation. TN=9.55 Pw in the formula is rated power(Kw)and n is rated rpm(r/min).
2.TKN 30 is the rated torque of the coupling when the temperature is 30ºC.As the temperature is higher than 30ºC and the prime mover differs,the rated torque of the coupling TKN 30≥k·9.55.(k please refers to chart 1)
3.Maximun torque Tmax
Tmax is the maximun torque of the system in normal operation.The maximun toeque will occur but in shout time.Tmax cannot be higher than the maximum torque of the coupling TKmax.For occasional cases(disconnection,synchronous motor out-sync,emergency stop),the shock torque cannot be high than 1.5TKmax.
4.Variable torque Tw
Variable torque is the vibration torque which superimposes on the average torque Tm.As the diesel engine is in stable operation,Tw cannot be higher than allowable variable torque Tkw.
5. Power loss
Certain vibration energy will be turned into heat to flexible element as damping exists.The superposition of power loss in each order calculated based on the following formula and cannot be higher than allowable value.
In the formula,Twi-variable torque(kNm)iniorder Cr-dynamic torsional stiffness of coupling (kNm/rad)

PKv30 is the data when environment temperature is 30ºC;
When the environment temperature is 60ºC,Pkv60=Pkv30·0.65;
When the environment temperature is 80ºC,Pkv80=Pkv30·0.4;
6.Relative damping
Relative damping is the ratio between damping power WD tuned into heat in each vibration cycle and elastic deformation power WE.
7.Axial displacement and radial displacement
Axial displacement and radial displacement is the instant maximun deviation of the coupling.It is not the shafting alignment deviation.For shafting alignment please refers to installation manual.
8.As influenced by the physical characteristics of flexible elements,the data in the chart is allowed to have some deviation.The deviation range is±15%and±20%based on different structures,types and sizes.
9.Environment Temperature
Environment Temperature is the air temperature surrounded the element surface.
10.Ventilation
There shall be enough space and ventilation around the coupling.There shall be enough ventilation side face and holes on the cover during design period.
Type Selection Guidance
The main flexible elements are made from rubber and metal.The flexible element absorbing vibration will produce heat(mechanical energy turns to heat).The transmit capability reduces as the temperature rises.As the operation temperature reaches 80C°,the transmit capability is about 40%.
